Hope Shue, a neuroscience major with a 4.00 grade point average, is a two-time CSC Academic All-America At-Large selection. She moved up to the first team in 2024 after second-team praises in 2023. Shue is a two-time Elite 90 Award winner, presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA participating at the site of the NCAA Championship finals. She becomes the first Panther to win the prestigious award twice.
The attacker claimed a multitude of awards in 2024, highlighted by IWLCA National Player and Attacker of the Year accolades. She was also lauded as the NCAA Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player and NESCAC Offensive Player of the Year. The junior secured a spot on the All-American, all-region and All-NESCAC First Teams as well as a place on the NCAA All-Tournament squad. In 2024, the Panther paced the NESCAC in points (106) and markers (81) and ranked second on the team in draw controls (70) and assists (25).
Her single-season point total is tied for the most in program history, while her total goal tally is second on Middlebury’s single-season list. For her career, Shue ranks second in goals with 220, while her points are third (272).
Shue is a two-time NESCAC All-Academic selection and has been named to the Dean’s List on six occasions. Off the field, the attacker volunteers for “Everybody Wins! VT” and the Special Olympics Club and is a member of MiddCAM and MiddCORE.
