Kyle McCausland became just the second baseball player in program history to earn CSC Academic All-America honors in 2023. The economics and computer science double major boasted a 3.90 grade point average (GPA).
An economics major, McCausland tallies the national award for the second-straight year after being tabbed to the CSC Academic All-America First Team last spring. The Panther led the conference in home runs (12) and runs batted in (50), while he was tied with a NESCAC-high 100 total bases. The outfielder also paced the team with a .629 slugging percentage and concluded the season in a tie for second on the squad in runs (43) while sitting third in on-base plus slugging (OPS -1.024).
During the 2024 season, McCausland rewrote the Middlebury record books, becoming the program's career record holder with 138 career RBI. He also holds the program mark with 28 home runs. He is active off the diamond, securing a spot on the NESCAC All-Academic team twice as well as being named a Middlebury College Scholar five times. He is a member of the Scholars of Finance and earned a certificate in International Economics and Finance last fall.
He has also taken part in Middlebury baseball's community service day as well as volunteering at the Vermont Lake Monsters' summer kids' clinic.
