The Panther men's golf team opened up its spring season with a third place finish among 10 teams competing at the Manhattanville/NYU Spring Invitational Tournament. Skidmore won the event with a 598, followed by SUNY Delhi (626), Middlebury (627) and NYU (628).
Sophomore Andrew Emerson (Pelham, N.Y.) was Middlebury's top finisher at the event, placing eighth with a two-day total of 153. Just one stroke behind in 12th place were seniors Jim Levins (Rutland, Vt.) and Brian Cady (Rye, N.Y.), both shooting 154. First-year golfer Max Alley (Albany, N.Y.) rounded out the Panther scorers with a 51st place finish (171).
