Dominic Shackleton helped lead the men's alpine team to third in the slalom.
The Middlebury ski teams claimed three podium finishes over the eight disciplines, earning third at the St. Michael's Carnival. Dartmouth took home top-team honors with 888 points, while the University of New Hampshire (718 points) secured second by 11 points over the Panthers (707 points).
MEN'S ALPINE HIGHLIGHTS
- Bradshaw Underhill continued his remarkable run, taking home the GS title for the third time this season on Friday's opening day of action. His clocking of 1:49.14 was one-hundredth quicker than St. Lawrence's Kobe Villeneuve.
- Axel Bailey grabbed a ninth-place finish with a two-run time of 1:50.11. Nico Richeda was the final Panther scorer in 24th (1:51.98).
- Underhill was the top Middlebury finisher in the slalom with a fourth-place effort (1:55.92), missing the podium by six one-hundredths of a second.
- Dominic Shackleton earned 14th overall, shaving off over a second on his second trip down the mountain for a combined time of 1:57.16.
- Richeda also put in a strong effort by knocking two seconds off his first run to finish 15th (1:57.49).
WOMEN'S ALPINE HIGHLIGHTS
- In the giant slalom (GS), Sophia Tozzi tallied a 14th-place showing with a two-run time of 1:53.29.
- Mika-Anne Reha combined for a clocking of 1:54.25 for 22nd, while Sara Paradis earned 43rd (1:56.64).
- Reha led the charge in Saturday's slalom event, completing her two trips down the mountain in 1:54.80 for fifth overall.
- Tozzi joined her teammate in the top ten, claiming ninth with a combined clocking of 1:55.37.
- Henrietta Borgia finished in 25th (2:02.10) to round out the scorers.
MEN'S NORDIC HIGHLIGHTS
- Logan Moore paced the Panthers in the 10K individual start on Friday, finishing in third with a time of 24:36.40.
- Claiming 15th place was Mason Wheeler, crossing the finish line at 25:59.70, while Benjamin Jenkin was 32nd (26:40.20).
- Saturday's action featured the 3x5K relay with the Panthers earning runner-up honors. The trio of Jenkin, Moore and Wheeler secured 106 points with their combined time of 40:49.20.
WOMEN'S NORDIC HIGHLIGHTS
- Shea Brams led the charge for the Panthers in the individual start by claiming fifth overall (28:53.00).
- Quincy Massey-Bierman (18th - 29:56.70) and Mica Bodkins (20th - 30:01.50) also finished in the top-20.
- Middlebury had a pair of squads compete in the 3x5K relay. The trio of Bodkins, Brams and Massey-Bierman placed fourth (46:40.60), while Sofia Scirica, Julia Thurston and Maggie Wagner had a combined time of 48:08.00 for seventh.
The Panthers return to the mountain next weekend as they head to New Hampshire for the two-day Dartmouth Carnival beginning on Friday.
