Luke Madden earns his second-straight All-American accolade.
Luke Madden of the third-ranked Middlebury men's soccer team has been named a United Soccer Coaches All-American for the second-straight year. The Panther earned a spot on the organization's first team as a defender.
HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS
- Madden becomes the 41st All-American in program history and a two-time honoree after being on the second team a season ago.
- He is the 22nd first-team selection and the first field player to earn the distinction since Deklan Robinson in 2015.
- Madden is the seventh player in the program's history to receive multiple All-American selections.Â
- The defender became the fifth men's soccer player to be named NESCAC Player of the Year and the first since 2014.Â
- Alongside his second-consecutive First Team All-NESCAC selection, Madden was tabbed a United Soccer Coaches All-Region First-Team selection and CSC Academic All-District honoree.
- He has been a workhorse all season, tallying the most minutes of any field player (1,847) and anchors a defense that has tallied 14 shutouts and the 12th-best goals against average (GAA) in the nation (0.603).
- The senior has also contributed on the offensive end with 10 points, scoring three goals and adding four assists.Â
