Three Volleyball Players Earn CSC Academic All-District

Harrison, O'Toole and Tuccio were honored as CSC Academic All-District selections

Three members of the Middlebury volleyball team have been named College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honorees. Molly Harrison, Gabbie O'Toole and Ava Tuccio garnered the distinction by the organization. 

HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS

  • Harrison
    • A computer science and statistics major, Harrison earns all-district honors for the first time.
    • Harrison became the third Panther to secure NESCAC Player of the Year honors, joining Hall of Famer Leslie Edwards (2000) and Jane Handel (2010). She also tallied an all-conference first-team honor for the second-consecutive year.
    • Alongside her conference accolades, the outside hitter became the second Panther to be named an AVCA All-American alongside her second-straight all-region first-team selection.
    • The sophomore led the program and NESCAC with 428 total kills and 3.82 per set. Both of those metrics are tied for second all-time in a single campaign.
    • She was one of three players to appear in all 112 sets.
    • Harrison tallied 20 double-doubles (kills + digs), including a 23-kill, 15-dig outing to help the Panthers to their first NCAA Regional Final since 2011.
  • O'Toole
    • O'Toole is majoring in psychology and grabs her second-straight all-district selection.
    • She tallied her fourth-consecutive all-conference honor with a spot on the first team alongside her second all-region selection and AVCA Region I Player of the Year.
    • The senior became the third Panther in program history to earn AVCA All-American honors.
    • O'Toole led the program and conference with 1,053 assists, including 120 over three matches during the conference tournament, leading Middlebury to its first NESCAC title since 2016.
    • O'Toole finished her career second in the record books in career assists (3,523) and third in service aces (148).
    • The setter also has been a NESCAC All-Academic selection in back-to-back years.
  • Tuccio
    • Tuccio tallies her first CSC Academic All-District distinction.
    • The junior is majoring in economics.
    • She was one of three Panthers to play in all 112 sets this season, finishing second on the team in kills (232) and points (291.0).
    • Tuccio had a dominant season up front with the fifth-most blocks in the conference with 91.0. 
    • The middle blocker has been named NESCAC All-Academic for the last two seasons.

The CSC Academic All-America volleyball teams will be announced on Tuesday, January 14.
