Middlebury men's soccer players Luke Madden and Gavin Randolph were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Second Team. It is the second consecutive season that two members of the program have been named to the squad.

HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS

• Madden (Second Team)
  • A Spanish major, Madden earned CSC All-District honors for the second-consecutive season and is an Academic All-America selection for the first time.
  • The defender became the 22nd Panther to be named a First Team All-American by the United Soccer Coaches organization.
  • He was the fifth Panther and just the second defender to earn NESCAC Player of the Year accolades. Madden also tallied all-conference first-team laurels for the second-straight campaign.
  • The defender helped lead Middlebury to top-15 marks in the nation in shutout percentage (fifth - 0.609) and goals against average (12th - 0.603).
  • Madden logged the most minutes of any field player with 1,847.
  • He also contributed on the offensive end, tallying three goals and four assists.
  • Madden closes his Panther career appearing in 62 contests, all of them being starts while adding nine goals and six assists in 5,171 minutes of action. 
• Randolph (Second Team)
  • Randolph is a computer science and economics major and earns All-America honors for the initial time in his career.
  • He became the seventh Panther student-athlete and the first men's soccer player to receive the prestigious Elite 90 Award. That honor is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade point average (GPA) participating at the site of the finals for each of the NCAA's 90 championships.
  • Randolph tallied second-team All-NESCAC and all-region honors for the second time.
  • He earned a share of second on the squad with six goals alongside three assists.
  • The midfielder put together five multi-point performances this season, including a career-best five (2G, 1A) against Trinity.
  • Randolph is a member of the College's Student Investment and Chess Clubs.

Madden and Randolph were part of a historic season for the Panthers that included the program's second NCAA Semifinal appearance and consecutive unbeaten regular seasons for the first time since the early 1970s. The full list of honorees can be found here.
