Middlebury Competes At UVM - Two School Marks Broken

The Middlebury College indoor track teams took part in a three-team race with McGill and the University of Vermont on Friday. Sophomore Jennifer Brenes (Lawrence, Mass.) picked up a win in the 55 hurdles in 8.66, while first-year racer Anjuli Demers (Dracut, Mass.) won the 300 meters in 42.45. Sophomore Simone Weisman (Newton, Mass.) was also a winner, capturing the 600 meters with a time of 1:41.12.

Senior Pascal Losambe (S. Burlington, Vt.) won both the 35-pound weight throw (43'1.75") and the shot put (44'5.5"), while first-year jumper Robert Athan (Oakland, N.J.) won the long jump (19'6").

Two different indoor track records were also broken at the meet. Junior Frazier Stowers broke the school mark with a leap of 6'4" in the high jump, placing him second.

The 4x400 women's relay team comprised of senior Kara Plunkett, sophomores Susanna Merrill and Weisman, along with Demers set a new school mark with a time of 4:12.44, placing second.
